The history of James Stevenson & Son

1900

The funeral directors at James Stevenson & Son have been serving the community for over a century, having been established in 1900. We are funeral directors with a real sense of family and community serving the people of Ballymena and the surrounding areas spanning over 5 generations.

1900 – 1931

James Stevenson & Son was founded by the late Alex Stevenson in the local village of Kells, just outside of Ballymena. Sadly Alex died when coming home from a funeral on the 24th June 1931.

1931

The second generation was his son William who ran the business after his father had died along with his son James, the third generation.

1960

The business moved to Linenhall Street in Ballymena.
